Before heading out with fellow American Idol Top 6 contestants Lee Dewyze, Crystal Bowersox and Michael Lynche to get new tattoos in Hollywood this past week, Siobhan Magnus already had a bit of ink...all with special significance to her. In this interview from the Season 9 Top 12 Party, Siobhan shows off her tattoos and explains why they are special to her.

American Idol Season 9 Top 6 finalist Siobhan Magnus visits the "If I Can Dream" house to chat with former Idol contender Alex Lambert and the other Hollywood hopefuls after her elimination from Idol.

Siobhan seems to be in high spirits as she jokes with the house-mates about a fan she encountered outside the Hole concert.

On talent alone, predictions had Siobhan going to the Final 3 with Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze. Unfortunately, America wasn't ready for Siobhan's unique and quirky style and unconventional nature. This young woman has shown incredible dignity and grace in the face of this huge disappointment.

David Letterman's Advice to Siobhan Magnus ~ "Don't Inhale!"

During a whirlwind press junket that has included The Ellen Degeneres Show, Wendy Williams, People Magazine and numerous FOX News outlets, American Idol's Siobhan Magnus stopped by to chat with David Letterman and perform with Paul Schaffer and his band.

Letterman and Schaffer joked around, trying to figure out the math - so Siobhan was the American Idol Season 9 Top 5 "7th finalist voted off." Letterman also made jokey reference to all her tattoos, asking what she had on her legs. And for all the fans old enough to remember President Clinton's campaign, Letterman told Siobhan the number one rule, "Don't inhale."

Siobhan gave another amazing performance of "Paint it Black". "Paint it Black" has essentially become Siobhan Magnus' signature song, where she can show off her amazing range and awe-inspiring "scream." Siobhan first performed "Paint it Black" when the Top 12 Idols kicked off the Season 9 finals with songs by The Rolling Stones.

That night, American Idol Top 12 finalist Siobhan Magnus drew comparisons to both Adam Lambert and Jersey Shore's Snooki after her performance of the Rollings Stones' "Paint it Black". Magnus delivered a theatrical version of the 60s classic in a prom dress and combat boots, and garnered unanimous praise from the American Idol judging panel.

Kara DioGuardi told Siobhan Magnus: "I'm having flashbacks of Adam Lambert and the stares and the drama. And I have to say, the best interpretation tonight. You did the most with the song, most interesting."

Ellen Degeneres was giddy after the performance, and drew a loving comparison between Siobhan Magnus and the hairdo of Jersey Shore store Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi: "I love the way you look tonight. I love the way you sound. I love the way you did that song. You just-you rise above. In a sea of people-like Snooki's poof. You just stand out and I like it."

Simon Cowell was equally effusive with his praise, stating:

"I think it was the standout performance of the night. What I like about what we're seeing now is that now I see the development form where we were on those middle shows to tonight. You look interesting. I mean, it's almost like you're going to have to now scream at the end of every song, but it kind of works. But I also think, and I think this is important for any artist, there are a lot of people who are going to love that and genuinely there's going to be a lot people who are going to hate it. Um, and that to me is actually quite a good place to be which is better than being indifferent and boring."

Although American Idol was unable to get any of The Rolling Stones to perform at the Top 12 show, American Idol Season 7 winner David Cook joined in on the tribute to The Rollings Stones with his version of "Jumpin' Jack Flash" during Wednesday night's elimination show.

"Paint It, Black" was released as the first single from The Rolling Stone's fourth album "Aftermath"(1966). The song was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, though Brian Jones contributed to the song's signature riff. Bill Wyman claims in his books that the song was a collective effort of the group, a 'Nanker-Phelge' one, but mistakenly credited to Jagger/Richards at the end.

The single of "Paint it Black" reached number one in both the U.S. and the U.K. charts in 1966. In 2004 it was ranked #174 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In the U.S., it was the first #1 pop single to feature a sitar on the recording.

Although it is a Rolling Stones song, many people immediately think of "Paint it Black" in conjunction with The Animals. Eric Burdon and The Animals covered it in 1967 for their debut album, "Winds of Change". They performed it at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967. This version was cut and included in the motion picture of the festival. The Animals also performed it on the BBC.

Siobhan sang "When You Believe" during the Top 7 "Inspirational Song Week" show with mentor Alicia Keys. Inspirational songs were performed that week in support of Idol Gives Back, American Idol's annual charity event.

'Idolatry': Siobhan Magnus talks rainbows, ponies, evil clowns, and her American Idol run

Left to her own devices, Siobhan Magnus says her American Idol tenure might’ve looked very different from what you saw on TV — and probably ended a heckuva lot earlier. The Glassblower sat down with me at Amalia Restaurant in New York City earlier this week to talk about which contro-versee-ahhl songs she almost chose in the semifinals (instead of “Wicked Game” and “Think”), how her rendition of “Paint It Black” was influenced by scary clowns, and why she hopes someday to make an album that’s “little-girl friendly.” We also dished combat boots, British boy band 5ive, dial-up AOL, and her Hollywood Week “drama” with Todrick Hall and @theriroxursox. With Siobhan Magnus & 3 other Idols sporting new ink, Season 9's Top 6 talk tattoos

Life offstage had a theme this week and it was new ink. With a rare day off (which Siobhan Magnus described as "like, a big deal"), four of six Season 9 contestants took advantage of the me time and visited a Hollywood tattoo parlor on Friday night. Naturally, we had to ask what inspired the four to mark the occasion and also posed a question to Casey and Aaron, who sat out the inking: What would they put on their sleeve at this moment in their lives?
Crystal Bowersox: Sporting fresh ink on her left wrist -- a beautifully illustrated gadfly-like twist on the classic medical symbol with a syringe down the middle and the words Type 1 Diabetic written across the top, Crystal said she got the tattoo because she is a "diabetic for life" and also "because I am really horrible about wearing medic ID bracelets and necklaces." But beyond practical purposes, Crystal says it sends a message to others and serves as a reminder to herself. "It's important now being in the position that I'm in," she explained after Tuesday night's show. "I have a responsibility to take good care of myself. There's lots of little kids out there with juvenile diabetes who need to take care of themselves, and they need a good role model." As for the art itself, she proudly declared, "I designed my own thing."

Siobhan Magnus: Ever the jokester, Siobhan first tried to convince us she had Michael Lynche's and Lee DeWyze's names written on her butt cheek, leaving "room on the other side for everybody else.... I'm sorry I can't show you," she said with a hilariously straight face. But in all seriousness, she couldn't show us the roman numeral IX she had stenciled on her "hip area," but she could explain the digit's significance: "It's been a really good number for me," said Siobhan. "I was 19 years old when I tried out in 2009 for season 9. And the more I think about it, then the more nines come up. Like memory vomit -- I was 9 years old when I figured out I loved to sing, and I was born in 1990, I could go on and on...."

Michael Lynche: Big Mike's gigantic guns both got new decoration. On his left arm, three stars, each about 3 inches tall. On his right: the word "Dream" in script. "They're healing up good," said Mike. "I'm just into reaching for the stars, you know? As silly as it is, I'm reaching as high as you can go and just dreaming big dreams. I'm sure all of us want to be stars. It resonates in my spirit, so I put it on my arm."

Lee DeWyze: Fans first spotted Lee's adornment at a "Shrek Forever After" screening over the weekend. Lee explained the symbol: "I got a silhouette of the Chicago flag ... (because of) everything that's happened to me there, and that's where this all started for me."

Casey James: When it comes to future tats, the wheels are already turning in Casey's mind. One of which, he teased, involves "a symbol from a movie" on his arm. He later 'fessed up: it's a Star Wars thing, which he'll share with his brother and cousin. "I've got a few (tattoos) drawn up that I'm getting when I go back home," said Casey. "My brother has one on his arm that's my initials on music bars, and I'm going to get his, which is BC."

Aaron Kelly: Though he's now one year closer to 18, Aaron's mother would likely not approve of a tattoo on her little guy -- even if it said "Mom" -- but if he were to go under the pen? "I'd probably go (with something) like Siobhan's," said Aaron. "But she did a roman numeral IX and I'd probably get the (number) 9 for season 9 of American Idol."
