Siobhan Magnus Sings an Amazing Version of “Any Man of Mine” on American Idol

Siobhan Magnus sings “Any Man of Mine” on the American Idol Season 9 Top 6 show featuring the music of Shania Twain.

'American Idol': Siobhan Magnus back on top with killer version of Shania Twain's 'Any Man of Mine'

"Siobhan Magnus is back on top of "American Idol" after she nailed her rendition of Shania Twain's "Any Man of Mine,"" according to Soraya Roberts of The New York Daily News.

"It was Shania Twain night and in a floral relic from the 1980s, Siobhan clapped her hands to the opening beat of "Any Man of Mine." The 20-year-old Cape Cod native drummed up some good energy, prancing across the stage in kick-butt white docs. ... the judges loved it. Even Simon - though he compared her last note to someone giving birth - thought it was fun."

Roberts goes on to say, "Siobhan edged Crystal Bowersox out of the top spot, for the first time in weeks."

  2. I'm glad the quirky happier Siobhan is back! It wasn't perfect, but she totally went loose and gave it her all and I lovvvvvveeeeeddddd it!!!

The first time I thought the two huge glory notes in the end might have been a bit off, I'm still not sure about the second last one, but the last was flawless! I mean,it sounded perfect for the whole 13 seconds lol!

  5. I am glad that Siobhan went out with bang. But, I do not have a good feel about this year AI voting - call it sour grape if you like, but I am not the only one with the same opinion. It feels too set up. At the end Siobhan had the exposure and would do well with either AI or through an independent label in the near future. Siobhan had a good ride at AI but the real ride have just begun.

  10. I think Siobhan is the best, most cutting-edge, singer who has been on Idol since the beginning. I agree, you are too good for idol. You're not just a pop star who fits into the cookie-cutter mold. Follow your star, girl.

  11. Siobhan is too good for Idol. She's not the cookie-cutter pop star they want to market. You are the freshest talent they have ever had on that show and they don't know what to do with you. Just follow your star, and keep bringing us your music.

  12. There is no way Siobhan got the least amount of votes!!!
She must have been pressured to leave by TPTB, let's just hope she has a great life and career in front of her.

  14. Siobhan - your getting voted out is a blessing in disguise, truly. Nobody thought you deserved it and that will make people support you even more. The show made you, especially for the past several weeks, somewhat...subdued, standardized, you didn't seem comfortable in that new shiny skin of yours... You are such an artist, you really remind me of young Bjork - I just wish you could take it all the way. You had a fantastic exposure and you won't have to deal with the dreadful limitations of this show anymore. Truly, sky's the limit for you now, girl!

  18. Good good stuff here. I like to get insight (eeek, that boring word)about Siobhan. She is a standout in that crowd of talented contestants. She takes her hard knocks graciously, while some of us beat our head on the fireplug crying What Happened to the vote! Her wisdom is good - not knowing may be best. Siobhan, you finished in top form, the Twain performance was beyond perfect, beyond Diamond. Mr & Mrs Magnus, take heart, and Thank You. "That girl right there" is goin places!
